My problem with Dog the Bounty Hunter

Dog the Bounty Hunter is a licensed bounty hunter in the State of Hawaii and is permitted to operate in Colorado as well. His television program is one of the more successful reality programs on today, and yes, I have a ** HUGE ** problem with it.

First, let me be clear about one thing, Duane Lee Chapman is a convicted felon. A felon not for petty theft, or check kiting, but rather Mr. Chapman is a convicted MURDERER!

He seldom discusses this issue, but the fact of the matter is Duane Lee Chapman was convicted of first degree murder in the State of Texas.

I have a huge issue with felons acting as bounty hunters with little to no supervision from the state and I have a real problem with Colorado (a state in which I used to live) allowing an outside convicted felon coming into the state in order to apprehend someone. That is the job of the police and not a FELON!

His program glorifies his tactics, his lies, his deceit, and most of all his felonious life.

Personally for being convicted of first degree murder he never should have been allowed out and the fact that he is walking the streets a free man is a problem for me; yes, I do believe in rehabilitation but in his particular case, he should be flipping burgers not out chasing criminals.

Colossians 1:13........
God has delivered us frm the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdon of the Son of His Love (14) in whom we have redemption through His blood, the firgiveness of our sins.

Colossians 3:13........
....bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another, even as Christ forgave you, so you must also do.

This guy has changed hundreds of peoples' lives, including his own, through his faith in God. His sins are forgiven and he operates under principle, morality, ethics and personal faith. I think sitting around moaning and crying about his past is about as irrelevant as you can get. The Bible also says not to judge and you won't be judged. Don't condemn and you won't be condemned.

Besides putting away criminals who need their lives changed and getting people off drugs and drugs off the streets, what has Dog done wrong in his walk with God and in his calling from God to change lives and clean up the streets?

You without sin......cast the first stone.

Have you heard the way he uses the Lord's Name in vein? Christian? I doubt it dude.

The man gets no credit for praying before every hunt or every meal or for professing his faith in Christ? I've never heard him use the Lord's name in vain. Even if he has, that doesn't mean he's damned to hell. All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. I don't remember taking the Lord's name in vain to be the disqualifier to being a Christian. Grow up.

I would propose that were it not for the money he makes in tracking down criminals Dog would not be doing the work he's doing. You say its his walk with God and I say its to line his pockets with money.

Credit? Sorry this is not a bank.

I have not seen you argue that he did not commit the crime he did time for so I can only assume that you agree he did it.

God may forgive him, but he still has a debt to society that he has not paid yet.

We're not talking about financial credit here, genius. I can see I'm dealing with a child....or just a very ignorant person who has no clue what the subject is about.

And yes, I know what he was convicted of but I know you don't have your facts straight. If you knew anything about his case you would know he was convicted because of his association with a group that was responsible for a murder, yet the DA had no one to pin it on, so the State of Texas grabbed the first "member" they thought they could pin a conviction on. He wasn't convicted because of doing the murder himself. Justice definitely prevailed but I don't expect you to comprehend that.

And he's paid his debt to society. He was convicted, he did prison time and he's out. You don't like it? Put him back in prison. If you can't do that, shut up. It's quite simple. I'm sure that coming from an anonymous moonbat who compares apples and oranges, this is a very productive subject for you.

I think you missed his sarcasm fox.

No, I don't get sarcastic during intelligent conversation. I know what sarcasm is but that wasn't the time nor the place for it. Thanks.

It is quite apparent that you take yourself far too seriously fox.

May I suggest a nice tall cold one and a cigar to help relax you; if that does not work then a trip to the local head doctor might be in order.

Either way I still appreciate your service to our country.

ignore that moron, fox is a punk. Have you seen his cheap ass website?

Military my ass. I served this fine country for 25 years and if I had run into a punk like him I would have knocked those teeth out.

Why does everyone feel the need to comment on the right or wrongness about this?? I'm from the Church of "mind your own business and enjoy the show or not. Then get an opion on something worth while" state of mind

Sometimes, people would like to express themselves on issues and its also a social question - "Do we want ex-convicts working as bounty hunters?"

Its a fair question to ask and I appreciate the responses, even though I do not always agree with them.

Oh come on now! We have elevated this guy to the status of a king or something?

Man oh man have I stirred the hornets nest here! Dog the Bounty Hunter is not a g-d and is certainly not someone I would want my kids to even be remotely associated with.

He was involved in the killing / taking of another humans life. That is a debt which cannot ever be repaid to society.

He was released from prison, fine that is the decision of the Texas authorities; however, my position that he should be disqualified for employment as a bounty hunter still stands.

If he claimed to be Muslim, I doubt so many of you would be so overly supportive.

Now we have him giving the shoes off his feet (which I would highly doubt because his particular shoes are specially made to increase his height for the show and make him appear more intimidating)....what's next? Is he going to walk on water now too?

Is anyone forgetting that he is human just like all of us. He committed a horrible crime and he did pay his debt to society. He served his term and came out reformed, turned to God and has taken over 300 criminals guilty of rape, domestic abuse, battery, dealing drugs to OUR children and more. Such narrow minded thinking. And as for the money, his family and he was a bounty hunter working just as hard before he came to fame for taking the infamous Andrew Luster off the streets. (I for one, as a woman, feel safer with that guy behind bars, and after YEARS, no other agency or person could find him).

Until you have walked a mile in someone else's shoes, do not judge. You can pray for them or praise them, but trying to bring someone down is an awful thing to do and a clear sign of hate. HATE is the worse quality to posess. HATE causes fights, wars, rape, child abuse, domestic abuse.... shall I go on?

I am not a Hater, nor is Mr. Chapman.

I shall also point out that ripping his family apart is also a sign of hate and low self esteem. Look within. Not ONE person living on this planet is free of sin. The ones that set out hate campaigns, in my eyes are as bad as the criminals behind bars. Hate breeds hate and you my friend are just FUEL TO THE FIRE.
